The founders of uParcel are long time friends and business partners. They have started several ventures together such as a tuition agency, car sharing, luxury bags retail and the most successful of all - uParcel. During the time when they were running the retail business, customers were frustrated with industry standard of 2-5 days deliveries. There was no solution to deliver on the same day and customers were kept in the dark on when the parcel is arriving. They saw the opportunity to offer same day delivery when the industry standard is “someday” delivery. uParcel was started to uPgrade the last mile delivery experience.

However, the founders soon found out why no one was offering same day delivery… Because it is really hard to solve the complexity of the multiple collections, drivers assignment, routing of the deliveries and making sure the deliveries were on time. They faced criticism from early users that uParcel was a scam, citing lack of drivers and multiple delivery delays. The customers’ critical feedback implied they value the same day delivery. This motivated the founders to build a better platform and drove uParcel forward.
